I have read it, it was soo powerful, shocking and well written.
I recommend the follow ups Lost boy and a Man named Dave. Dave Pelzer has written 2 others that I am aware of and haven't read yet Help yourself and the Privilege of youth.
He is such an inspiration!

I read it for my Perspectives on Child Abuse and Neglect psych class a few years ago.It was a well written book, very intense and an very sad fact that allot of children are treated like that and the subsequent damage they sustain because of abuse. It's knowing crap like that happens to children that makes it very hard to quit smoking.

I read it, it was horrifying!!!!!!!!!!!! Dear God the karma involved to the mother of that child will be very cruel indeed! I don't like to re-think what I read about. Its hard to believe people can be so cruel huh? We haven't learned much since the Romans threw their undesirables to the hungry lions. Humans haven't evolved much after reading this.
