No. Just because you are the most important person in your own life, even in those who are close to you, doesn't mean that everyone in the world or anyone you pass on the street or come across will automatically recognize you for who you are solely to yourself and your own being.

That is an interesting question in that little kids do not actually know this until a certain stage of development. Personally, I think there are some adults that have not mastered the idea.

Perception is reality.
That's why governments, since the Ancient ages, don't want contact between different peoples when there's war. The less their own population know the enemy, the less they will care about them. They will de-humanize them, and forget that they are human beings just like any other.

I don't see myself as being important in my life.
I am important in my childrens lives and my parents lives and as far as I am concerned as long as they know I am here and exist I don't care about anyone else!
