my husband would tell me what he thinks looks good on me. but he wouldn't tell me exactly how to dress. i never said anything about how he's dressed. but i do sometimes make a suggestion about how to cut his hair (i don't get all butt hurt if he didn't take my suggestion). so technically we don't try to control each other by the way we look...in fact, we don't try to control each other period. we have that kind of trust and we both have strong self-esteem. i really believe my husband is grown up enough to know how to dress himself up. i'm his wife, not his mommy!

If someone gives you a suggestion, advice, that is ok.. It is more important to be yourself. When I first got married, my wife tried to change me.. the way I dressed. After a while I felt that it was not "real", not "me" so I started dressing the way I used to except a little better butnot like she wanted to make me out to be. She also tried to get me to go in a career direction I did not want to. She should have married me for who I was. 12 years later I am now so unhappy (she has done a lot of bad things money and relationship wise) that I am finally ready to divorce. Bottom line: It is ok to give a suggestion or advice (Some people don't have a clue on style) but don't change for them, make a change if it makes you feel good about yourself.

in a way my husband will ask me what are you wearing or you are wearing that! and i will go in and change cause my taste in clothes isn't always the best that is why i also lucked out to have a 6 year old fashion consultant she tells me if something looks good together or not so before i let my husband see i ask my daughter's opion first and if she says no that don't look good then i go in and change before my husband can agree with her and she stands up to him if she says that it looks good and he says no it don't she will say dad i think mom looks great and he will say ok and let me wear what she picked out so that he or i don't hurt her fashion ideas good luck

The only thing my hubby says is he likes my hair long and if I wanted to wear something sexy when we go out then he would not object. Otherwise he does not care.

No, and I wouldn't tolerate it. By the same token...He's an adult and should know what to wear by now. If not, he's the one that looks foolish when he shows up at a black tie affair in brown loafers.

My current boyfriend doesn't tell me what to wear etc because he knows that I wouldn't listen to such directions. An ex boyfriend tried to once... hence he's now my ex.

Some times my husband will ask me what to wear. But if he puts something on that looks weird together I will gently let him know, if he chooses to listen that's his business, but we do not fight over it. It is just not that important.

No, my husband does not. The only time he would suggest something to me is if I asked his opinion first. Otherwise, he just leaves me be. I think I would be angry if someone tried to tell me how I should be.

Since the man should be head of the house, his wife should wear the clothes he picks out for her (unless they are too immodest in public) and wear her hair the way he commands. Also, since the man should love his wife, he should take her ideas into consideration.

My husband picks out better clothes than I do. Sometimes I tell him what clothes I need (panst, skirts, etc.) and I send him on his way. He has excelent taste.
