yes they sure are. i think stories thru out history are a gold mine. enough of the special effects,the TV show remakes,sequels and on and on.

Nope. There are much creative stuff that doesn't get made. Investors with deep pocket prefer to go with "typical hollywood material" and stick to the market segment they are familar with.
Stuff by Charlie Kaufman: Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are excellent and innovative.
Christopher Nolan did well with Memento. And there are stuff like Dark City (okay thats old). Cronenberg: Existenz, History of Violence etc.

Obviously, after SOAP. I mean, what a movie some guy on a plane with oooohhh SNAKES!! Totally scary Children of the Corn meets Freddy Kreuger stuff. Puhlease.
They'll probably have two bratty three year olds with sticks this winter. Wow. Really scary stuff - I can't wait!

Yes! They are recycling so many old movies and TV shows, it's getting pitiful. Frankly, Michael Crichton needs to get back out there! So many of his books are so original and exciting, and they love to make movies out of his stuff. I do like a lot of the concepts coming out for cartoons, though, like Monster House. Such an original movie idea and I absolutely loved it!

They ran out of ideas a long time ago, that's why they're making movies out of '70s and '80s TV shows.
I just can't wait for Punky Brewster and The Jefferson's movies!

I have always thought there are only a few really creative ideas, and they are hopelessly redone with little tweaks here and there.
I long for creative, inventive movies like "This Is Spinal Tap", "Used Cars", "Take The Money & Run", "SoapDish" & more... We need another wizzard of oz as well...lol.
But please, no more movies with Pauly Shore...

Yeah i do, Have you noticed if they make a real box office hit, that they make like several more that are almost just like it but only a few minor details are different? They have done it with several movies now.

they have run out of idea's. why else would we have a scary movie 4? they have been out of idea's for a couple of years now
