Not me! I love America! I hope to make it even better!

I don't believe we need to "trade" any freedoms. Why should we? What are we trading them for?

Familiarity breeds contempt and hatred. What you have you take for granted. The vast majority of Americans have never known what it is like to not have the rights and freedoms nor how difficult to gain them back if you give them away or have never had them. They also think that their rights are broader than they are and that they hhave the rights but don't have any respomsibilties. A primary example is the police. The police in the States are by and large, honest and hard working. They are treated with fear and contempt. The population hates them although they are doing a job I know I couldn't do. They are treated as if they are not part of the community, an inportant part. Spend some time in a place like any number of African or South America countries. Now go for a walk at night. If your still alive it will be because you were armed and faster and luckier than you have a right to be. Your death will be important only as far as you are important or rich. Shout an insult into the face of a cop in most countries and you maybe able to explain something about the your freedom of speech before he or she shots you. The citizens of the West really act upon the assumption that the rights are accepted by all and enacted by god. The are respected by realitvely few and enacted by men with fervour in their hearts and guns in their hands. The other thing they had was a sense that their rights were something to be worked for and defended not just something to be demanded.

Alot of Americans aren't happy unless they are complaining and it rubs off on all people and so it make everyone unhappy.

As for my freedoms, I would never trade them because I would never have joined the military if I would have traded them. I love my freedoms and I will fight for peoples rights to hate America, to say horrible things about the troops and such because that is a freedom, and because of all our brave men and women throughout the years, with the help from other countries like England and Australia and others at times when we needed it, have died to make sure that freedom continues to be free.

I would trade the freedom to own a handgun for socialized medicine and live in Europe. A lot of coutries are just as good as we are if not better. Just because you would consider living outside the country doesn't mean you hate it. I just like a lot of other places just as much and in some ways better. The US has good and bad qualities just like every other country. People who talk about the US being so great are usually comparing us to Iran or some other hell on earth. Come on, that's not a fair contest.

Why do you assume that all Americans hate America? Isn't that an overly broad assumption? I love America! I'm proud and pleased to live here. I value the freedoms and responsibilities associated with American citizenship.

I don't think its a matter of them hating America. I think it's a matter of hating the way America is being governed these days. Like that bumper sticker said, " I love my country but I fear my government." The very fact that Americans can voice their feelings about this nation and its government is a freedom they would not want to give up. Someone once said, " My country, right or wrong. When right, to be kept right. When wrong, to be made right."

The only reason you all have your freedom is because of what the goverment is doing now.
I dont understand why people dont reilize that there are alot of enemies of the United States and they would like nothing more than to KILL you! Get with the program or one day you will wake up and all the things you love about America will be gone

There's not as many Americans in this country that hates this country. You take us using our right to free speech to voice and discuss what we think is wrong with our country as us hating our country. We may not like what someone else says about our country but we still respect their right to say it and because they say it we don't have to listen to it or agree with it.
If you don't believe we love our country just try and attack us as was done on 9-11. Osama accomplished only one thing and that was to give us the doorway to go where we need to fight the terrorist and anybody that supports them( Iran,Syria, etc. ). There are not many that would give up our rights or freedoms to live somewhere else.

i think people hate the things america does. i know i totally disagree with some of the things our country does, but i would never trade the freedoms i have -- even though places are becoming more "strict" about them (ie: public schools - what happened to freedom of speech? c'mon). but i would love to live in another country - like mexico and i'd go there in a heart beat.

they tend to be the people who haven't traveled the world that much and seen the poor countries out there. I for one have honestly been around the world a couple of times and stopped in some great places and some awful places. I love the united states and will never want to live anywhere else in the world. some places are great for a visit but nothing beats living in the US.
