A friend of mine told me last night that she is afraid because she is late with her period. She has not had sex in over a month with her boyfriend and can't figure out why she would be late a month later. She took a pregancy test and it was negative. I want to be supportive and provide comfort but I don't know what to tell her to make her feel better. Do you have any advice?

Tell her to get a test from her doctor. Drug store tests are not that accurate. Also she could have a cyst which would also alter her period and would also need med attn.
Also, if she worries too much that can also make her late. Tell her to calm down.

her period could be late for SOOO many reasons...she could of loss are gained weight, been under stress, been sick, those are reasons that her period could be late..and sometimes ure body is weird and u wont have a period for a month...so her mind shouldnt go pregancy rite away..and if that doesnt sooth her soul let her go to a clinic and get a REAL pregnancy test not not over the counter crap

There is a chance she could be pregnant. She needs to have her doctor run a pregnancy test, which is going to be more accurate than the store bought test.

She could still have her period right after becoming pregnant and store bought tests aren't always right.
Or it could just be stress,

its been i month then maybe it will come on but i'm late it been 2 months for me. the last time i had a peirod was in june.

If she's been stressed out, that would make her 'late'. If she's more than a week late, she should go see her gyno.

If she's had her period since she had sex, then she's not pregnant. If not, then she should see her doctor.

stress can make youre menstral cycle irregular. and if she keeps thinking in her head she is preg. then her body will repsond to that bc it thinks she is to.
