One knows oneself better than anyone else does. I live with myself 24/7, therefore I know myself the best.
Sometimes, however, we need others to point out things to us. Have you ever seen your own back? You haven't, except in a mirror or maybe a photograph. But you haven't seen it live, unless you have a double-jointed neck or something. Others CAN see it, however.
I use this example to illustrate the fact that others can see things in us which we cannot see. However, in an overall sense, an individual knows himself better than anyone else does, by sheer fact of personal and individual association.
Love, Jack.

One may truly know oneself by stepping out of this seemingly 'realtivistic' world.
I am not certain what 'realtivistic' means and I am not suggesting suicide.
I am merely saying that for one to truly know oneself one must separate from the world and spend time alone - without outside influences or pressures - to discover ones core being.
Prayer, meditation, solitude.

dont worry....not too many people have the courage to know themselves....yes i said courage. can u be the person in public that you are in private. or can u be the same person throughout different situations or do you cave in to social pressure....and are you even honest enough with yourself to even read this and see the truth of what im saying. as far as the relativistic world....you need clarify what you mean...because being aware of a relativistic world is different than your identity constantly changing. if u need more clarification just e-mail me.

I don't know. Some say you cannot know anything beyond your own thought and existance. Perhaps to learn as much as you can, meet as many different people as you can, and try to see the universe from as many points of view as you can you can know yourself better.
I think, like, if everything connected in one then we are only points of view looking back on ourselves. If we could see the whole picture...then we'd know everything. but we cannot, because we are part of the picture. I think, perhaps, "inner peace" or "enlightenment" or "balance with the universe" or whatever is achieved by escaping your own single given point of view, and seeing through all.

By rejecting everything that applies for the others too...
When you turn down the light and music and sounds, and when you are all alone, talk to your self and you will reach your personal being.
Of course if we have a routine-life,satisfied,then we can hardly know ourselves;only by suffering we can reach wisdom.

One only sees in oneself what one chooses.
One only sees in others what they display.
May you have the wisdom to know the difference.

We can never know ourselves entirely, but we can always try.
Meditation, dreaming, and ultimately, letting ourselves live life to the fullest and dream to the wildest.
See the starts at night and reach high to touch them, never repress yourself or hide your feelings, be open to others and to yourself, ponder about what you believe in and ask yourself why do you believe it.
By looking in ourselves and questioning ourselves (one of the hardest things to do!), we can strive to be better persons and get to know ourselves more in the process.

I think you can spend your whole life time trying to understand your self, and never fully be able to.
I believe though, that if you learn to accept your self, and trust your self, then the path to self enlightenment, which is what knowing your self is all about, might be easier to follow.

To know ones self is to have seen inner truths in which are relative to the self only.
