I wouldn't say it's "cute", but rather sublime. I think that for Dante, Beatrice represents an ideal; the kind of love which is elevates the human spirit.

Ok, it's been awhile since I read this work, but I remember thinking at the time...His obsession was DISTURBING!!! He definately needed some one on one time with Freud.
