All the direct deposit signup forms that I have seen require a voided check to be attached. Has anyone not attached the voided check and had it setup anyways.

You don't "HAVE" to, per se. However, your enrollment may not be processed without it or a form that provides the same info. You may know the info, but they'll want to ensure there's no chance of a mistake, even by one digit. There are forms you can have filled out (provided by your employer or bank) that will substitute for the cancelled check.

Attaching a deposit slip, even if it's a savings account deposit slip, will not give them all the info they need in order to accurately process the info. Notice...routing/ABA numbers ARE NOT printed on your deposit slips.

If you know the ABA number and savings account number, you can enter that, since that is really all they need. However, some companies just don't want to "take your word" for it because if there is even one digit off, or not legible, then that can cause major problems if the deposit is made to a wrong account.

So, they may take your word for it. Ask them. But, most likely they will ask for something from your bank. The payor of the deposits should have a form they'd like for you to have your bank representative complete. If they can't provide you with that form, then ask your bank. They should have a blank/generic form that you can take to your payor.

You don't need to attach a voided check if you know what your account number and you routing/aba number is. However, if you provide the incorrect info then you will have problems getting the funds into your account. If you don't want to attach a check you can always go to your bank and have them fill out a card that you can attach to the paperwork with your account number and your routing/aba number. It is not a good idea to attach a deposit slip as this doesn't always have the correct information.

I have had to fill out a form, without a check, because I wanted the checks to go to a savings account, and the check is not relevent then. But after that, I wanted some checks to go to the checking account and I did not have to fill out a form, only turn in a voided check. I don't know why then you had to give a form and a check, too.

There is really no need the only reason employers ask for this is because the Routing and Transit Number and usually your account number is at the bottom of all checks. If you know this there is no need to give a voided check to them.

Yes,all they need is the account# and routing#. Some request a voided check so there will be less chance of misreading ones handwriting.

Yes recently I sent in a pre-printed checking deposit slip. That has all the same info.
