yeah, like, i like all kinds of punk music, some more than others. i really think you should stop dissing different kinds. punk-pop is great, hardcore is surviveable, and classic is okay. i, for one, am trying to start a band "with the stage antics of the beastie boys, the sarcasm of sum 41 and green day, and the determination of the clash and the sex pistols" does this sound cool or what?

Personally I'm not big on pop-punk, but I won't argue with you...
Sounds pretty cool I guess... Although better than simply smashing together a couple of groups, why not just be completely unique? Make sure you aren't trying to emulate anyone too much...
EDIT:
Ok- yeah. I tried not to do the argue thing, but I gotta agree- the Beastie Boys aren't really punk. I don't DISLIKE them, but I don't think of them as punk. And neither are Sum 41 or Green Day. It's cool that you're starting a band, but I think it'd be better if you avoided stereotyping yourself as punk.

I am definately sick of depating and I totally agree with what you are saying!
I think that punk music is punk music and it all kicks the **** out of other kind of music. It is awesome-every type of it! And yes I do like more than others but who cares, it all rocks.
I think the band you are starting to create sounds really cool! A combination of really great bands/sounds. Good luck! It sounds like a great idea!

what is there to debate. punk is a state of mind. It isn't the clothes you wear or the music you listen to. And what people consider punk music isn't really punk unless the band's state of mind is punk. and if they're making this "punkish" music just to make money, then they are, by definition, not punk.
If you and your other band mates truely have a heart of punk, then screw what everybody says. You're punk no matter what people think.

I completely agree with you dude! Let's get over distinguishing the difference between all types of Punk and just accept that ya either like it, or ya don't.

get a lil more mix of sum 41 and green day and sweet lil childeren/green day in 1988-prestent and blink 182 sex patrols arew okk so u got a cool band if u mix those my fave is green day
