People start rumors to feel better about themselves. They figure that if they embarass someone else, then they will raise their own self esteem by puting more negative focus on the person that the rumor is about. Therefore, the attention is taken off the person who starts the rumor. So you see, ultimately, people start rumors with the intention of hurting someone else but in their hearts, they know that they are really trying to make themselves feel better at the cost of hurting someone.

Well because they lead boring lives, they are boring people, they have nothing better to do and so friends and family don't see what mistakes the rumor starters are making!!

because they are jealous and bored. i mean id they had something better to do then they would start rumors
