Wisconsin sucks in pretty much EVERY sport.. but yeah.. I don't really know anything about hockey and it looks so awesome.. soo.. yeah. but why doesn't wisconsin have a team? on like NHL or whatever.

You're not the first one to ask, and the mayor of Miwaukee actually tried to get a team in 1989, according to the NY Times. He obviously wan't successful, but as recently as 2003, sports columnists were weighing in on the issue, and likely still are today. The NHL is unlikely to expand, so the city would have to get an existing team to move (Pittsburgh is considering doing so). In the meantime, the Milwaukee Admirals, an AHL affiliate of the NHL's Nashville Predators, will have to suffice.

I never could figure out why since Milwaukee is so close to Canada, has always supported minor-league teams, and is a much more logical locale over Anaheim/LA, San Jose, Miami, Tampa, Phoenix, Dallas, Nashville, Carolina, and St. Louis. I don't begrudge the fans in each of those cities, I just don't see why more Northern cities weren't represented before teams were placed in the South. Seattle is another town that should have a team. I know it's a lot more complicated that geography, but it would be more sensible to me to have less teams in the South.

If I'm not mistaken, the University of Wisconsin won the NCAA Mens Hockey "Frozen Four" either last season or a couple seasons ago.

Wisconsin isnt the one playing the sports. Its the players. And there will be players from cananda, Czech, Russia, Sweedin,etc. They will be playing on the team. Not just people from wisconsin.

Because Minnesota just got their team back..and its not a big anuff market place for it yet....lets see if they can keep the Bucks and the Brewers first!
