0 Degrees longitude to 180 degrees longitude is the western hemisphere (half) of the earth. Canada and the Americas are in the western Hemisphere.
0 degrees. or the prime meridian runs from pole to pole through Greenwich, England. go west halfway around the world to 180 degrees.
The eastern hemisphere begins at 0 degrees and and goes east and ends back at 180 Degrees, the International date line.

Greenwich mean time....A vertical line through the Earth...we also use it as a line to tell the time by.

western- all countries west of the prime meridian (e.g. usa, mexico, brazil)
eastern- all countries east of the prime meridian (e.g. china, germany, russia)
