Laser cleaning, may work in some cases, but are not recommended in all disk drives.

I would check all your internal connections and make sure the IDE (Ribbon) Cable is properly connected, if this does not work try reinstalling the drivers.

Start with cleaning the laser eye with a compatible disc cleaner and brush, and blow the dust out of the drive bay. Good Luck

i just had the same thing happen to me. i rang up where i bought it from and they asked me to take it into them and they replaced the cd/dvd rom drive for me .. so i suggest you ring where u got it from :) Good Luck!!
