Portals don't usually have the best rates.
If you use the portals to find where you want to stay, then go to the hotel's website or call them direct, you'll get a better rate because you won't have to pay the fees.

well, as one has said here that directly askin with the hotels would get better rate. thats wrong. doin it with agents get better rates as they got allotment and better rates from the hotel cos they bring the hotels big quantity of customers. online rates are lots great one such as www.expedia.com, and www.excelloz.com is now for oceania and asia. try to check.
