A few hundred years ago some Europeans who thought they knew everything about God and life in general went to a land far away, slaughtered all the natives, and settled. They grew to be 'Americans' but are actually European rapists and murderers. Probably that is why (most) Americans today are rude, competitive and have no respect for themselves or others. The REAL Americans are almost extinct and live in small areas, like animals. And still they dare to think they are the greatest nation and people in the world. They are not even a people, just a bunch of misplaced Europeans... (The same story goes for Australia basically, all whites there are nothing more than descendants of common rapists, thieves and murderers.)

Wow! Obviously i've 'insulted' a lot of 'intelligent' people, calling me stupid, saying i don know anything about history. You'll be suprised! People say: Where do YOU come from? Yes, we DO have the same ancestors. I'm just pointing out "Americans" aren't from America. Look, Germans are from Germany, Swiss from Switzerland, Dutch from Holland. But Americans, do they come from America?? Hell no. It's not my intention to insult even one person, and all of you have to admit i have a point. (A lame point maybe, but still a point) One guy said "At least we have freedom, we're the best place in the world!" Ehmmm...freedom? You're not even allowed to smoke or drink wherever you want. Go to Amsterdam or Madrid, there you'll see freedom... Anywayz, i apologize to those who seem to be offended, I was just wondering how "you Americans" feel about this. Obviously there's some truth there, because most of you got really ticked off!

Stop misinterpreting my point here. I don't hate any person, i just hate what MY ancestors did way back. And how can i be jealous of any person when i saw many places in the world, and was able to help many people in many, many ways. And to AZ, calling me smuggish; maybe you went from JFK to LAX, but see something of the world before you insult me with typical american behaviour. Being competitive, always wanting to win. I never said Europeans are better than Americans, i'm sayin that basically, we stem from the same roots. And the 'freedom' i talked about is not the kind of freedom I need. Look, i can travel all over Gods creation by meditating, i saw angels, demons, 'aliens', ancestors and demigods, so I don't need this so called, secular freedom you think exists in the US. I am a being of grace and love, just pointing out the American pride is based on air. A child has to be corrected. So don't insult those who merely try to inquire an opinion. (I provoke to get REAL answers)

I can understand where you come from I as a decedent of both Creek and Black Feet tribes have always tried to help my people. Although I am also part European I have always seen the injustice the American government has placed on them. They say that they payed for the land from my people but how can you when they did not have a since of ownership of the land. And the payment was a joke an few glass beads. They would then force the natives from their lands so that they could build cities and farm land and make money.
When the Native Americans would not just leave they would kill them. The city of Boston had a law on their books, till I think last year maybe the year before, that did not allow for a Native American to come into the city limits.
But by saying the all Americans are rude I would have to say no, maybe just the ones you have met.
Freedom only comes to those who the government thinks deserves it. Today the Native Americans live on reservations that the Government is trying to take over. More land that does not belong to them. What kind of freedom is that.
If people want to see how the Natives are still treated today go visit a reservation. Do not stop where the tourist are keep driving and see how they are forced to live. They were the first people in this country yet they are treated below the European, Asians, Africans, and Hispanics.

So, where do you hail from? Cause there's hardly a culture on this planet that hasn't known war, conquest, etc. The Americas and Australia were settled in more recent human history than other areas, which may be why you're all up in arms and waving your flag around, but Europe itself was thoroughly conquered by the Romans, and Asia had its share of invading forces (remember the Great Wall? Yeah, it's there for a reason). It seems pretty ridiculous to try to blame a country for the behavior of its "ancestors" (and I'm sure my French great grandmother and Swedish great grandfather would resent being called rapists and murderers for immigrating to the US). You can't leave yourself out of such a generalization no matter where you are. Yes, the Native Americans got a horrible short end of the stick, but they're hardly a unique example of man's ability to destroy each other. And, if you want to get really, really technical, the only place with "natives" would be Africa, where the human race began. And I doubt the Native Americans would appreciate being called animals.

I live in the United States. What does that make me? As far as I know, I've not committed any of the crimes listed above.
I like to point to a few similar situations. The island of Britain has been invaded by Romans, Angles, Saxons, Danes, and Normans in a thousand-year period. Does that mean that they are not British? How about the fact that India and China have been invaded by people from other lands for millennia? Are there any Icelanders, since they are all decedents of Vikings from Scandinavia. Finally, consider that anthropology suggests human origins are from Africa, which means that Europeans and Asians don't exist either.
It is true that the First Nations of the Americas were pretty much decimated by immigration from Europe (and Africa, albeit less voluntarily), although disease was as much of a factor as hostilities. I do admit that it is a rather gruesome part of our history. However, I consider myself to be American (I prefer North American, but that's just me). I have European ancestors, but my family has been on the continent for over two centuries, which I feel is more than enough time to be considered not European.

Go back a few thousand years in your country’s history and you’ll probably see much of the same thing, be it racially or religiously motivated. What you will not see when you fast forward to the present day is a society so blessed that even people with intolerable views such as yours are given the freedom to express them and the greatest military in the world fighting and dying to ensure that this freedom lasts forever. I am a patriot, and though your words offend me, I’d gladly die to give you the right to say them. If this doesn’t make the nation that I represent worthy of your respect then I sincerely hope that you live long enough to find a greater wisdom.

Go ahead and gloat that you insulted all those "intelligent" people. You're just another typical America hater and are simply trolling the internet trying to piss people off as an absurd exercise in boosting your own self esteem by knocking down others. Please laugh yourself silly at my expense...see if I care. Your smugness reeks of immaturity. Be proud.
Edit: Well, after reviewing your other questions, I can see that you have a lot of hate to go around. Wandering the world with no direction in your life...no wonder your self esteem is suffering. And imagine my surprise when I saw that just two days ago, you were asking about moving to New York City. Wow, that's quite a consideration for somebody who hates America so much. I don't get it...you hate this country and the people living here and yet you want to come here for your shot at success? Well, we don't need people like you. We have plenty of people trying to emmigrate to America that don't hate us. Why don't you go back to Amsterdam (where you came from) and celebrate all that freedom you were bragging about?

To be an American is a unique thing. It's more a ideal than a nationality. Yes, Americans have less than desirable attitudes about certain things but most countries are set in their ways. America is certainly no different. As for Native Americans, of course it's awful what happened to them, but that was a long time ago. Times have changed and people have generally gotten over it. None of us can change the past. It's done. What matters now is the example you set as an individual to contradict the concept of American arrogance. And it's not like we've had it easy over the years. We've had our share of hardships just like everyone else. Everyone chooses a different outlook on life and you just have to make the best of it.

I think you are trying to group all Americans into one stereotype. We are not all rude, competitive, and have no respect for others. It is wrong to stereotype a group of people based on a "few bad apples" that you might have met. Also a lot of Americans have ancestors who came to this country in the late 1800's-twentieth century, I don't think they all were "rapists and murderers". Also they are not all of European decent.
Not all Australians are descendants of criminals, my family immigrated to Australia in the twentieth century, long after Australia was just a penal colony.
By the way if you look at the history of civilization you will notice that many cultures raped and murdered their way through other nations. War has been a fact of life for centuries.

Citizens of the United States are called "Americans." That is how we refer to ourselves, and that is how the rest of the world describes us. We were first described as "Americans" sometime during the 1750s, both here and abroad. It was largely an outgrowth of the French-Indian War.
The people you describe are more properly known as descedants of Meso-Americans.
"America" was named for Italian Amerigo Vespucci, who mapped the American continents. Therefore, the name "America" is of European derivation. And as the early settlers of America were from Europe, it is not incredible that they should be called "Americans."
In the colonies during the Revolutionary Period, some suggested the name "Columbiana," [or alternately, "Columbana"] in tribute to Columbus. The Founding Fathers rightly decided that "Columbiana" was a really lame-sounding name. Can you imagine being called a "Columbianian"? I'm glad they stuck with "The United States of America."
It's just a word, don't lose sleep over it.
Love, Jack.

Yawn.
Chatting point for your next hide-skinning party: humans are not native to Earth, exactly.
The ancestors of us all lived in East Africa. Stayed there for a long time, too, hundreds of thousands of years. Then about 80,000 years ago some folks left what is now tropical Kenya, and their descendants went out to colonize the rest of the planet.
It's an oversimplifed account, but it is basically accurate.
Did you know "natives" do not exist?
We're all settlers. For extra credit, I'll leave you this puzzle: this statement applies even to folks now living in tropical Kenya.
Happy hunting.
