Sounds like it. But thats life. Just like Ford and chevy, and Honda and Nissan, and who ever else battles each other.

hard to believe, as many of the hybrid options available now in the US are all in the SUV/truck category... (Toyota Highlander hybrid, Lexus RX400H, Ford Escape hybrid, Mercury Mariner hybrid, Saturn Vue Green Line)
Otherwise, for cars you have the Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Accord Hybrid, Toyota Prius, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Lexus GS450H, and the Honda Insight (which was discontinued after the 2006s sell out).
and each year sees more existing models getting a hybrid drivetrain option available...
It would be more like bashing v6 SUV owners by the v8 SUV owners. Any car/truck/SUV can have a hybrid drivetrain put into it. Might as well be a SUV owner and bash on minivans or small cars. The hybrid bashing just doesn't make sense.
I tend to agree with your comments about the bashers - they are just ill-informed and lash out at something that is different, or that they secretly wish to have. (Like the boy pulling a girl's pigtails...)

SUV drivers don't hate hybrids or the thought of them. SUV's are usually very large vehicles and hybrids are small and not roomy enough to haul big families and large stuff around.
When they put an electric motor on a Suburban V8 and it gets in the upper 20's MPG, I would like to have one, but they have not done so yet.
In the years to come, everyone will have some type of hybrid,
(I don't know what they will make for us)
I think it's all about the small size of the hybrid vehicle and the small increase in real fuel economy (fuel economy for the size you get) that most of those people do not like.

I presently force a Nissan Titan, that gets replaced by using a Saab 9-7x interior the subsequent 10 days. Why could I pay much less for gas than a Hybrid motive force? I chosen to purchase my Titan and am determining directly to replace it with an 8 cylinder SUV.

You have already have the answer, HATE. SUV owners are hating because Hybrid owners don't have to spend two arms and three legs for gas like SUV owners do.

I have heard that the hybrids are still a waste of money for the average driver. The additional cost and maintence of the hybrid car vs the gas difference is not really cost effective.

Most "suv" drivers are of a mind that that vehicle will get them out of any bad situation they get into, which it very well might....IF they knew how to drive in the first place....is more a status symbol than anything else, plus most are larger than others on the road, giving them a sense of "I'm bigger than you!!"

The question should be "why do hybrid users use hybrids?"
SUV drivers use SUVs because they have a function for it: Camping, transport of kids, etc..
I don't see why you insult people who can afford to run SUVs, just let them be, and drive your little electrical/gas car in silence?

cars are very personal choices (they all look different) and people project their self worth and pride into an automobile.
They are sold this way, and until it is realized that cars are only transportation, first and foremost, nothing will change.
The advertisement of these gas guzzling gargantuans is absolutely astounding.
