Honestly I don't have enough info on it to make an informed decision. From what I do know about it then yes I am for it, depending on how the cells are harvested.
All I really know is that it can and has had awesome results in fighting many diseases.

I was reading in the news today, August 23, 2006, that scientists have found a way to do stem cell research without destroying a human embryo. As this is now the case I am for it, but I am against it if a human embryo needs to be killed.

I am so for it! My Daughter's doctor told me the other day that there doing research in stem cell's and hearing loss. She has progressively lost her hearing and now her hearing aids don't help. She has to much damage for cochlear implants. With this new research they are finding that they can regrow special hair cells in the ear. Anchored to each hair cell is a group of cilia, delicate projections that float in the fluid of the inner ear. When sounds vibrate the fluid, the cilia move. This movement stimulates the cell below to send electrical signals that the brain interprets as sound. I'm hoping that this will maybe work for her and so many other people.

well, I don't know enough about this to say for sure. Right off the bat, from what I heard, I'm not sure I'm for it. I think there is too much opportunity for abuse there. However, if it could be handled appropriately, and the stem cells could be harvested from adults or from umbilical cords instead of embryos, it could make a world of difference in a lot of peoples lives.

Well I used to be for it,until I found out that stem cells from embryos hasn't had a single success story to its name.now I'm for adult stem cells, which have had multiple successes and doesn't sacrifice a human baby.
