Jealousy is the best way to sum it up. Many people feel that even white collar workers are "bums" since they're not doing work in the form of manual labor (it appears they're physically not working as hard as one would)

I wouldn't say its because the way they dress necessarily since you could call a Construction worker a bum for wearing dirty clothes knowing full well that construction worker could easily be making 6 figures at the peak of there career.

cuz the old people are conservative and close minded.There probably not used to the sound.The consider it scary there just like that.But who care's?? they call my favorite professional rock musicians bum I call them windbags.Hey,they have to realize to get over themselves.Some old..oh umm**cough** i mean senior citizens judge people way to bad.I'm NOT saying all do but some do.And give stupid evil looks.Anyways basically there not use to what's going on they probably don't have the faintest idea about music going on now.

P.S. Construction workers look dirty cuz they do construction work duh! The work requires that they wear plain clothes that will get dirty.Rock musicians don't have to dress in raggedy clothes. It is a choice.
