I like to carry a messenger bag that I can hang across my chest. Inside, I have a small/medium handbag with a fairly short strap for when I need something, but don't want my larger bag. This system allows me to carry a lot comfortably while still being able to quickly take out and carry the essentials without switching purses four times a week.

I think that a purse you enjoy that is not over priced and one that reflects your personality. Why spend several hundred dollars on a purse that you sat down. Buy something you like. It's all about your style and sorry but name brands are nice but having a fatter wallet is better.

I like one that is roomy and will stay up on my shoulder when I shop. I also like one that has a special pocket for my cell phone and has an outer pocket for my keys.

don't waste your money on coach, prada, gucci, etc. carrying a bag like that is just like saying look at me! look at what i can afford! use the money you save for something worth while.
