I sat next to this girl today who talked at a normal voice level during the entire class. There were no other open seats and I couldn't move. It's a huge lecture hall so the professor didn't notice. Is it just me, or does anyone else find this extremely rude? I couldn't hear the professor at all. I am nonconfrontational and didn't want to tell her to shut up. She also talked like a valley girl as do most girls at my horrid college.

Daddy got her into college. I'm sorry but nobody tells her "no". You will just have to move.

Of course it's rude. And it's hard to say something. I was seeing a movie the other night, and people next to me were talking for about 5 minutes straight after the movie started. I just had to say something at that point. I asked, "Can you please stop talking?" The guy said, "I'll consider it." Sort of a smart answer, but at least they stopped talking.

talk to the prof after hours and identify the girl, that way you wont have to be confrontational, the prof will pay attention to the girl during class and shut her up

Tell the inconsiderate ones to keep quiet! Are you paying to hear them talk...tell the proff. to get the plugs out of his/her ears & tell them to shut up or get out.
Maybe they'd like to fail but you don't.

maybe they don't have enough time outside...its ok if it happened once, but consult her the next time she will do it. And try to escalate to your professor.
