You usually see a African-American with another African-American, hispanic with hispanic, white with white, etc. Do you think it is because you feel more comfortable with someone of a common culture or are usually more attracted to your own color? What is it? (I mean I'm white married to a white man--so I fall into this too--but I just wondered why we tend to do that?)

until rather recently it had always been looked down upon to marry/date anyone of a different race, color, or even religion. As a society we are just now starting to shed the negative stigma associated with being "race blender".
But more and more people are starting to care less about popular opinion and follow their hearts in an attempt to find love. Yes some people are more comfortable, or more attracted to members of their same race, but then there are some of us who prefer other races as well.
As for your own situation, ask your self, if you had been in an environment where you were surrounded more by other races do you think you would have been more likely to have found love with another race. Odds of that happening are more likely.

I think it has a lot to do with the way you were raised. It's also about culture. I mean, we're all Americans, but it's a different race. I am not a racist and I have no hatred toward anyone, but I wouldn't marry outside my race. It's just a personal preference I guess. I don't care if other people do, but it's just my preference, like I said.

It seems that we marry someone who as grown up the same way we did (which usually means the same race). Usually, when people marry someone of a different race, it is for one of two reasons...

1. They both grew up in the same type of neighborhood / went to school together
2. One was sooo interested in the other culture, that they learned so much that now they have something in common!

This is just my opinion.

nicely you may truthfully experience this is sweet for you, this isn't any longer racist, this is in basic terms what you experience might paintings on your guy or woman condition. some people have a good narrower concentration and marry only interior of their very own ethnic history (ie Italian or German) or faith, and that's nicely interior of their top. The racist concern is provided in to play once you or all and sundry tries to impose this perception on others.

Because they love that person, not their color. That didn't happen for my family though, i'm Nicaraguan, Costa Rican, Indian ,Chinese and British. But usually it's because they grew up around their own kind usually and have more in common.

Most of the time yes. I've always wondered if it's because they don't want to be judged by their own race. I'm sure it also has to do with religious reasons since most cultures have their own kind of base religion

People are most comfortable around their own race so it makes sense that they would marry each other.

Society deems that to be appropriate. No matter how stupid it is. Like Society says the model home has husband, wife, and 2 kids.
