At the time. no. Castro's the biggest player in this game so far but with his latest health problems it proves that he is indeed humna and will eventually die. The united staes is very open to the idea of bringing the US in but not as another state. The current plans are to annex cuba and make it part of FL, making Miami the capital mostly due to it's large cuban population and the fact that it would not be hard to change the current capital of FL to Miami. Then we can tax residents of Cuba and take advantage of the island's vacational gem. So no, not at this point but the united states is most certainly open to the idea.

Far from it. We got Fidel Castro into power in Cuba and then we found out that he was not what we wanted. We have tried to overthrow him, but we have failed to do this. Fidel Castro wanted to place Soviet Missiles on Cuban land which did not happen. We have not normalized relations with Cuba.
