No. This is an example of an "advance fee" scam. Similar to the Nigerian 419 scams. They all have one thing in common, they get your email, they send you a message about winning a lottery, being the long lost relative of some dead person, something. The catch is, you have to pay them some money to get whatever it is they are offering. They take your money and you get nothing. If you did not purchase a ticket in person at an authorized lottery agent's place of business, then likely it is in fact someone trying to con you into giving them something for nothing in return.

Do a search for "lottery scam" and you will find a wealth of information on how these work and examples of emails sent.

did you sign up for any form of raffle in london? have you recently been to london? if not it is probobly spam. DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS! these are common ways that viruses spread. if you recieve an email from an unknown sourse you should never open it. if someone sends you an email that you do not know they will explain themselves in the subject.

No, it's a scam and also Illegal. No lottery can be run outside it's own borders so dump it in the trash and move on. Don't answer them back or they will keep spamming you.

Did you enter a lottery or contest of some kind? If not, then it's a scam. They didn't just pick your name out of a hat. They'll probably want you to send them money first or they'll want your personal info.....DON"T give it to them!!
