Is this simplifying?
Use the order of operation to solve your problem:
Please ( parenthesis)
Excuse (exponents)
My (Multiplying)
Dear (divide)
Aunt (add)
Sally (subtract)

2(4-6)2-7+3= (Do what's inside the parenthesis, subtract 4-6)
2(-2)2-7+3= (Multiply 2 by -2)
-4*2-7+3= ( Multiply -4 by 2)
-8-7+3= (add -7+3, since adding comes before subtracting)
-8-4= (You then subtract -8-4)
Your answer -12

Hope this helped. I also hope the order of operation helps you on solving problems like this. Good luck in college.
Ciao and take care!

This problem is missing something.

2(4-6)2-7+3=

As per order of operations you do what is in parenthesis first. But, what do you do with -2?

According to the problem I multiply by 2 = -4

-4*2= - 8
-8 + 3 = -5
-5 - 7 = -12

That is order of operations.

Split it up like this so you could see where I was going. Is there a term missing between 6)2? It seems like something is missing there...

Looks like you're missing a term between 6) and 2???

If it's 2(4-6)+2-7+3, then it equals:

2(-2)+2-7+3 (subtract 6 from 4 to get -2)
-4+2-7+3 (multiply 2 times -2 to get -4)
=-6 (add +'s 2+3=5 and -'s -4+-7=-11, add 5 to -11=-6)
