I think the idea of countries should be abandoned. John Lennon had it right.

the southern country is a rocking place. filled with great peoples, languages, and much in the line of flavor. I very much appreciate the closeness of that country. there is another country north of the one i reside in which I am not allowed to visit much. just on the coastal areas and even at that I'm pushing it. still a wonderful place in environment, government, people. Not to keen as to that country's history though.

I am assuming you are talking of neighboring countries. Canada and Mexico are unique cultures different from ours. Canadians are less culturally distant from the United States than Mexico. Both are fantastic cultures.

Mexico is beautiful but corrupt and full of crime! I live in a bordertown with Mexico! Its amazing that just across the Rio Grande its a whole different world over there! As for Canada, I think its ok, never been to it but would like to go to Toronto one day!

Surrounded by Malaysia n Indonesia....they are nice countries with wonderful places of interest. Their citizens are friendly n helpful.
