goin tomorrow to get breast exam! May have lump did self exam but not sure what to expect at dr.s appt.?
If something is there what will happen? I am not too worried until I know for sure! But 3 of my aunts had brest cancer so the possibility is there!

My doctor found a lump while she was doing an exam on me in the beginning of the year. (I'm 27 btw...) i went to the breast clinic for a mammogram, but instead they did an ultrasound. The doctor there told me there are so many reasons why you could have a lump, besides it being a cancer, like a lipoma or fatty lump, hormones can make lumps, or it could be a cyst. Lucky for me it turned out to be a lipoma, and it was noticeable because I lost 20 pounds. Don't worry until you find out what it is, I know easier said then done! Good luck!

When I had my first exam they wanted me to return for a second mammogram and ultrasound, most of the time fat deposits or glands will show up along with residue from deodorant as mine happened to detect, so make sure you do not wear any deodorant...I never been so frightened in my life having to repeat the x-rays for something I never thought about.
With the history you have of women in your family you are doing the right thing and probably need to do more often, your Dr. will keep your x-rays to compare with past exams. With technology today it's amazing how many lives are saved and the minimal surgery's preformed. Best of luck to you, and don't hesitate to ask any questions you have.

Great attitude! It's easy to get worked up over nothing.Your doing the right thing,as you said the possibility is there. They will take each breast and lay them on a flat machine.They press them down to take the "x-ray".It's really not that bad.You'll do fine.Best wishes!♥
