I just seen this same question and had to post it here. So what is your honest opinion? Mine is guys with guns, my mom is too burnt out to be scary anymore (and I mean that in the nicest of ways) I was scared of my mom until I was about 13 or 14.

Of course I don't really consider myself being afraid of someone with a gun, for the main point that it isn't me that controls what they end up doing in the end. Of course I have had a gun pointed straight at my face, I ain't saying I am some macho kind of person that considers myself to be invincible I just figure that if I might not make it out alive I may as well not beg and plead for my life. Sorrry I kind of got away from the point. Anyways pick your poison.

Having been on the receiving end of my moms wrath and in front of a loaded gun... I would have to agree with you - The drunk idiot with the gun scared me a lot more. I would rather not have that experience again. But, I must say even scarier than that was when I was held up with a knife in a store that I managed a while back - 3 guys came in with knives - we were three ladies working in the shop and each of the guys stood right beside us. The - what I assumed to be the leader - had the knife to my side and he whispered: "I don't care who you are, if you are married or if you have children, I am telling you here and now, if you do not give me the money you have in your pocket - I will stab you right here right now... (they must have been watching us, because I had just put some money in my pocket to go buy something at the shops)... I emptied my pocket and they left... With the guy still whispering - Now just you call the cops - and see what happens... it was after that that my husband started applying for work in other countries.

It depends on what scares you most - having good things destroyed or having things that most normal people consider bad things destroyed.

If you are most frightened by having what is good destroyed, then the guy with the gun is more frightening.

If, on the other hand, you are someone who likes things other people consider as bad, then the person you have to fear most is a mom; because (no matter how burned out you think some moms may be) there is no greater power or drive than that of a mom who is out to destroy what will destroy the good in, or about, her child's life and the life of other mom's kids as well.

One other point: The guy with the gun shows the world what he is and that his only power is what he is and the gun he has. Moms tend to hide who they are and what their power is. I'm not saying that in a match between a mom and the guy with the gun the mom would be invincible. What I'm saying is that in the greater context of this world most moms have far more power than any guy with with a gun can ever really have.

Well, I'd honestly go with "mom with guns." I'm not afraid of my mom, personally. Actually, she's a pretty gentle and docile person. She won't EVER consciously make the decision to kill someone with a gun (or any other way, really...). But it would honestly be incredibly terrifying seeing a docile woman like that become brainwashed somehow to kill. Having to see my mom make even the smallest of all threats with a gun or to be so extreme as to kill someone with it will be extremely scary. I mean, honestly- stereotypes play a big role in this outlook.

Mothers are usually gentle, loving, and friendly people. Men (or soliders) are well-known to be killers (with little or no remorse), while women just don't kill all that much. Think about it. What's more shocking? Seeing a trained soldier kill someone by shooting them? Or your mom wield a Colt or a .357 and shoot someone in the face? Goddamn it, I'd be terrified.

I just hope it's not ME who she'll shoot... though it's a good chance that it'll probably be me... :-p

Well like Paul said, some people see fear as a sign of condemnation which isn't true,so i guess it's niether here nor there, your pretty correct though it is just a chemical reaction and mental fear could be seperate from fear of the heart and doesn't necessarily change the outcome of something, although adrenelin can sometimes be a big help sometimes

My mom is good, she deals with me according to what I do.
Guys with guns are actually pretty nice guys. My dad has a gun. I have an airsoft gun. Everyone I know probably has a gun in their house.
Just beware the bad people with guns, they are not nice people.

Personally, guys with guns don't intimidate me because I'll shoot back and probably out draw them.

I dated a woman once I was more afraid of her mom because between her two parents that actually could kill someone it was her mom that would have killed me.

Personally, I'd rather run into a gang armed to the teeth with guns, than look into my mothers eyes after doing something stupid that has disappointed her. My mom didn't have to yell, she just had to look at me.

But I guess mother fear runs in my family. My mom used to say she didn't have a fear of God, she had a fear of mother.

Well I would say that a guy with a gun would be scarier because most women don't know how to aim and a guy would probably know how to.

I'm not really afraid of either to be honest...my fears are all of a different nature and usually irrational...but we all have to suffer through something in this life I guess.
