I like the old stuff as well as the new, but it was definitely "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" that got me to sit up and really take notice of them. Although, I think back to the old stuff and remember how "Minority" really hit me at the time of a personal issue I was dealing with. But Green Day rocks either way!

I completely agree with you, I love Green Day. I don't care when it is I love it if those three guys are playing it. I believe that as they have gotten older they are just doing what alot of us do, they are getting political. Well that and the fact that they write about what is going on around them, in their personal lives as well as society as a whole. I have actually come across questions that were written by Billie Joe himself (from what we are told, but I believe it), he seems to be really into what is going on in our country today. I am sure that Tre, and Mike (Tre is also my nickname, sorry to veer off) are political as well I just haven't heard of them speaking publicly or otherwise about politics. I don't care if Green Day is considered mainstream or not I love their music and that won't make me think any worse of them for that reason, people can't let the fact that these artists might be mainstream cloud the fact that their hearts are telling them this music kicks A$$. As long as these guys are making music I will always give it a fair listen before I judge it.

I liked there new album, but I really liked the old green day better, they weren't so into being famous, now it seems like they are all into be rock stars. I miss them when they were just a bunch of punk kids that didn't care..

A small price to pay to see that you're happy
Forget all the disappointments you have faced
Open up your worried world and let me in

I do like all of Green Day's music, but I've had enough of "American Idiot". The "Warning" album is one of my favorites though. I just hope that for the next album they'll do something different.
As for the mainstream thing...I don't really think that they are. They are mainstream, but it's not a bad thing. More fans the merrier, right?

I like the old and the new. I really love this band, although I had to take a break from them because it was too much every day and I got burned out.
