Sure, it's an Internet browser just like Internet Explorer, which has been gaining popularity over the last couple of years as a better alternative.
Firefox is safer than Internet Explorer because it has better inbuilt protection against viruses and hackers. It's also more customisable because thousands of people have contributed 'extensions' which add unique functionality to the browser - and you can pick and choose which ones you want.
The thing I like most about Firefox is the 'tabbed browsing' - this lets you open lots of webpages at the same time without having to load lots of copies of the program.

OK so others have told you it is an internet browser, but I can tell you that it is extremely reliable because I have been using it for over a year now. My son the techie and the people he deals with really love Foxfire nbecause it doesn't have the problems IE has. IE is integrated into the various versions of Microsoft software so that you can't delete it and reinstall it or fix iE without damaging your system. Firefox can be downloaded easily and doesn't interfer with the other programs on your computer. It is a good idea to have more than one browser available on your computer incase a problem developes with IE. I highly recommend it.

Highly recommended browser, Mozilla base, like Netscape. An alternative to IE. Geeks prefer Firefox. It crashe a lot less than IE, and although not impervious to virus and other baddie activity, it does appear to be more stable than IE.

mozilla firefox 2 is to be released shortly.. i m keeping my hands crossed...
its the browser just like internet explorer wherein you can surf the net...
it has got inbuilt download manager, ability to pause, resume n with its inbuilt features, acts like DAP in the sense that it will download with appropriate uniform speed...

its the same thing as internet explorer, just a lil. faster. it comes with insights road runner.
