could you explain the benefits other than tax breaks?

I think everyone is different and we all have our different opinions on this subject for sure! I got married to someone who is my best friend, someone I feel I can talk to about anything, is there for me in the good times, fun times, as well as the bad times or when I need a shoulder to cry on or someone to vent to when I have a bad day. I like having someone to come home to, instead of an empty house (yeah some people say get a dog or cat). BUT it is nice to go to bed at night and snuggle up to that special someone. Have that sex partner that is always there (don't have to pay for it or use your hand or a toy! lol). It is someone you can grow old with and don't have to worry about who you are going to spend those darn holidays with or who is going to go with you to that next family reunion or ect. The Kids are a bonus (sometimes) if that is what you want too. The tax breaks are the least of my reasons for marriage. I just prefer to not be alone all the time. I love my husband, have a great marriage which is hard to find and I hope that I am one of the lucky ones that continue to have what I consider to be a good life. But like I said it isn't for everyone. I have a good friend who is single, he prefers to be single and is happy that way......so hey to each his own!

I always thought of marriage as just a piece of paper. That marriage is in the heart. But I have to tell ya that I met my fiancee and my mind changed. I really want to get married to him and I am in October. I never thought I would feel this way.

I can't tell you what the benefits are except the joy of standing in front of friends and family and expressing your true love for another person.

It is a choice. A tradition. A conveinence.

Some people get married for the wrong reasons, like: kids, tax breaks, someone to cook for you...etc.

The real reason to get married is because you want to, you love the person and because you want to commit to them for the rest of your life. Otherwise marriage may not be for you.

Benefits: Someone to have sex with whenever you want and they want, someone to help share the chores, someone to confide in and be your best friend and someone to start a family with if thats what you want. Many things!

I would get married for the pure simple reason that I wouldn' t want to live the rest of my life not having someone to hold me, kiss me and just laugh with me. I would marry my best friend because they are there for you through thick and thin. Come what may.

I got married because he is my best friend and we love being together. Being married makes me happier than I could ever imagine being. I am now part of a team instead of alone and it is wonderful! He is always there for me and we have fun together. Need any more reasons?

i have no idea.. i agree with you, for the simple reason that you can love someone, and live with them without bringing the government and property laws into it, cause that is what causes the problems for divorce in the first place.

marriage is God's gift to us. It allows us to have a total commitment without fear of reprisal. We can trust our Spouse as ourselves to be a family pillar and give strength that is greater than we can have singly.

Good Luck to You and God Bless!!
