Who first recorded the jazz song "Polka Dots and Moonbeams?"?

Who composed it? I have loved the song ever since I first heard it when my old high school jazz band played it at a competition and would like to hear an original recording. Thanks much!

I love that song too. The version I'm most familiar with is by Lester Young. Prez recorded it in 1959. I don't know if that's the original. It's on his Verve Jazz Masters collection.
