You've heard all the stresses from all of these teachers and as a teacher of junior high students I would agree.
However.... at the end of day, I can't see myself doing anything else. Teachers are born to be teachers they're not made.
P.S. ask this question again in May :)

Absolutely. As I teacher I needed a positive way to help beat the stress of the job, a lot of which wasn't always caused by student issues but rather ridiculous ed reform policies being shoved at us that don't make sense or help our students learn. I started creating teacher/education comics to help relieve the stress that I and my colleagues were experiencing. A little laugh can go a long way in this profession. Check out 180dayz.com for the comics.

Tonight I'm exhausted from my teaching day, emotionally and physically. Yet I can't sleep for that very reason. I have cried this evening from feeling so overwhelmed. I have 4 more years to retirement, and I have realized I don't think I can even make it thru this year. What is the problem? No discipline, no respect, very little parental support. In the past, we teachers at my school have had backing from our administration, but this year is different. No support there. I'm not going to make it. The fact of the matter is....it is up to the kids. They make you or break you. They have broken me.

YES - teaching is stressful. Some days better than others.....
Parents are mostly the problem. Kids are sometimes bad in class ;) Parents often believe their kids lies and completely disregard what the teacher has to say. As if I went to college to torment, harass, and "pick on" kids. My masters degree doesn't pay that much for God's sake.
To Teach- hang in their and talk to others for help and understanding. Ask admin. if there is any way to retire early ,,, talk to someone!

I'm usually exhausted. Teaching isn't an 8-3 job. I usually get there 30-60 minutes early and leave most days 1-3 hours later. Then bring home work- that doesn't always get done 'cause I'm too tired. I still have a family to take care of.

Being a teacher is a stressful job in SG coz you not only face the student but their parents too if the student get into some sort of trouble. the worst thing that can happened to you is that the parents can accused you of being a lousy teqacher for not guiding their kids in the proper direction.

Yes...as a high school teacher I often find myself overwhelmed at the end of the day. I love what I do, but it can be absolutely draining.
