In our school district the supply list is available starting some time around the middle of July. It can be picked up from the school office during summer business hours. They usually have copies at the library and Wal-Mart as well.

Well, go to the school website, as someone above said. Or Walmart or office stores like Staples and Office Max might have the list if it is elementary or middle school.
Or alternatively, just go to school on the first day and find out what you need. And then go buy the stuff afterwords.
