Sir Isaac Newton (1600s) did not invent the laws of thermodynamics; that came about two centuries later(1800s). The second law does state that the randomness of the universe is always increasing, so failing to keep a sex crazed or very horny woman contained could qualify as a possible explanation for this behavior. A more likely explanation is that the so-called pair bond in humans is very recently evolved, and as such, it is rather imperfect. (Chimps do not have it, for instance). Furthermore, the species probably benfits a little from a little hanky panky, as long as it doesn't get too out of hand.

What a great question!
Unfortunately, however, I don't think that Newton's theories apply to this situation.
