Help i don't get it average velocity and displacement is hard

If he rode for an hour, he would have went 12.5 km. He rode for 15 minutes (which is a quater of an hour). So 12.5/4= 3.125 km.

15 min. is 1/4 of an hour, if you go 12.5 km/h you divide 12.5 by 4 = 3.125 km traveled in 15 min. Check 3.125 x 4 = 12.5

12.5 km per hour. 15 minutes if one quarter of one hour so:
12.5 / 4=3.125 km
