It's not the slavery part that is most disconcerting - it's everything else that has happened since that tragic event. The categorical refusal to acknowledge the need to repair the situation, is also disconcerting. Reparations were given to Japanese Americans interned in camps for only a short period, but no assistance was given or considered for those held in slavery. Apologies were doled out to many groups held back by the American standard, but none were offered or considered for ancestors of slavery.
The next time you come up to a stop light, just remember, that it was invented by a black man.
The next time you or a family member needs blood, just remember, it was a black man that made that possible.
The next time you eat a peanut, see a street sweeper, use an ironing board, have instant coffee, walk on linoleum, eat mayonnaise, or are in need of open heart surgery, just remember, that an African American that "should still be in Africa climbing trees" made all of that possible.

I like answering dumb questions from 12 year olds. It's fun!
Darling, even if Africans were climbing trees for bananas, what is wrong with that? Why do you assume that life in "civilization" is so much better? To be honest with you, I'd rather have been back in African the way it was before the Arabs and Europeans came and robbed the land then left it in ruins. Africans were a lot more civilized that the savages that invaded it.

Really? Wow I never thought of it that way before. Slavery is Was Great. Getting Limbs cut off, whipped, and all those other fun things. Running for Freedom.
Do you also think, if Caucasian had never come to this land Native Americans , would still be hunting buffalo and have a country full of trees and other things.
Same with Asian.
Advice NEVER say it in front of a group of black people or you can kiss your white *** goodbye

Dude, you are so ignorant you make the first question sound dumb.
But it does get really frustrating to be condemned for something you had nothing to do with and can do nothing about. Especially when you are honestly trying to relate to black people.
Any hatred for what anyone's ancestors did to anyone else's ancestors is as least as ignorant as your second question and last statement.
And lady before me, if you adopted a girl FROM AFRICA, then her ancestors were NEVER slaves anywhere in all of (pan) AMERICA!
Hell, if she's from East Africa, her ancestors probably had white slaves! Mamelukes, they called them. Or at least the Arabs did.

Ye gods!!! Are you serious? It is always wrong to enslave a person. Pragmatically, it is better to live in America than in Africa. The problem is the ingrained racism and oppression. At some point in the thousands of past years, all of our ancestors were probably enslaved at some point. The problem as I see it is that blacks are still suffering the effects of it.
My question to you is: "Have blacks gotten over it enough to stop blaming and start achieving?" It is a fact that new immigrants from Africa do much better in America than those born here.

You tick me off, "climing trree for bannas" wtf, be "grateful for slavery" what in the world are you in? The turn of the event for black folks in this country was harness from theirs struggles, but you said it like without slavery they will be nothing. Morever they will be climing trees like monkey for food (oh hell no) why don't you be my slave so your kids can be grateful. Alhough some may blame theirs current state on slavery the majority sees is as a reminder for them: something that they can withdraw strenght from. I think you are being racist. ( i hope i am wrong b/c i don't know you and i would like to think that the world has many good people)

Aren't you an ignorant little fool?
Do me a favor?
Go outside, find you a group of black people and repeat what you just said.
I would love to see them throw you around like a rag doll.
Wouldn't that be just splendid?
Thanx for the 2 pts, dumbass!

Grateful for being enslaved? You are a profoundly stupid person. How to start answering such an insultingly racist, condescending and plain cretinous question?
