It is very complicated. They have special tools and they know a lot of programing and internet infrastructure. Hacking can't be done without knowledge of these.
But if you are trying to recover passwords from different files and even messengers try using Elcomsoft Password recovery toolkit. But remember. That isn't a hacking tool.

It's not like in the movies, usually requires social engineering..ie. faking you are the person and calling IT to reset a password.
There are programs that can crack short easy passwords this is called brute cracking, many times you can guess a password since most people use easy to remember things like something personal like their name, birth date, or simply the word "password"

The 'passwords' used in Microsoft operating systems, are placebos. extremely weak.
Just insert a LiveCD of Linux, and take charge!
