Living a "gay" lifestyle is a choice. Some people are predisposed to have an attraction to the same sex but, that does not mean that you are "born" gay. We are all imperfect in different ways. Some of us are born with an aversion to certain foods and in extreme cases to all food. That doesn't mean that we are "born" with a desire to starve to death. It is merely an imperfection that we have to overcome. Think about what living a "gay" lifestyle means in many areas today. It means a life of exclusion and hatred in some areas and in others it is a life of acceptance and freedom. Which is the right way to live? Some say being a homosexual is never a choice because, who would want to live a life of being hated and ostracized. But the same argument could be used to support the opposite theory of choice in those areas where it is accepted. That argument doesn't work for either side. Look at how people are made and the natural function of the human as it relates to sexuallity. People were designed to procreate and make more people. Homosexualitly doesn't do that. While it may satisfy a sexual urge or desire, it is still a function that is contrary to nature, to the way were have been designed to function. Any act contrary to our design (while it may fulfill an unatural desire) is a choice. People can chose to remain celebate even if they are heterosexual. Having sexual relations of any kind is a choice. So you see, sexual intercourse period is a choice. Being "gay" is a decision you make.

A thief is not born a thief , what ever you become is your choice , nobody is born as anything people say ' you're born that way ' to try and excuse a type of behaviour , there's always a choice , otherwise , how could anyone be held accountable for anything they did , a murderer could just say that it's just the way they're made and that they have no control over the choices they make , it's rubbish when you really look at it . Everything you do is decided by you

Being gay is a choice. Being homosexual isn't.

Gayness means accepting your homosexuality and living a life that allows you to feel pride and self-esteem. Being homosexual means you still have the feelings and perform the acts, but remain in the closet - perhaps even get married and have children, while keeping your sexuality and sex life a secret.

I think it's better if homosexuals choose to be gay, and are given support and acceptance for that choice. The alternative tends to create a lot of misery.

It's funny how people think that you can choose to alter their genetics. Maybe they should choose to be smarter or at least more charismatic, maybe taller..

Anyone who thinks that Homosexuality is a choice can certainly prove it with no effort what-so-ever. Go down the that part of town where all of The Gays hang out. Find one, because you can allways spot them right? Have sex with them. It's a choice, just choose to find them arousing and choose to go through with intercouse with them. Choose to climax with someone of the same gender. If a Gay person can choose to so can you, you're not inferior to the gays right?
I've only known one person who successfully chose to be Gay. He chose never to be straight again and oddly he chose to change his mind about weather or not people are born Gay. But I'm sure you'll choose to be straight right afterward because you can.

Being gay is not a choice unless your gay/lesbian parent keeps hitting on all your girl/boyfriends...
Actually homosexuality is a chemical or chromosomal imbalance in the body.

Well, I choose to live my life as a 'straight' woman - I could choose to be gay if I wanted. I suppose in reality, I'm bisexual, but I can choose to only swing one way.
