I was very dissapointed last night with "Wii Prove our Promise". Instead of announcing the release date and price, they announce two new games that only someone stupid enough would buy. If you have any info on a conference that might tell what we have been waiting for for over a year, please tell us, and provide a link if you want.

One of IGN's reviewrs (Matt C.) received an invitation to "Celebratye videogames" the event is suppose to take place on september the 14th in NYC, and Nintendo of America's president will be present. The invitation features a picture of the Wii console, and I believe that the release date and price will be announce that day as well as more information on the virtual console and some hardware secrets. i does no longer assume the Wii to launch any in the past than October, in all probability in November, as you reported. besides the shown fact that, the stated $299 fee originated in a descriptiong to a 7-11 contest which could bring about somebody triumphing a Wii. that's fairly obtainable that 7-11 ramped up the fee slightly to make triumphing the console look greater useful (or only only would have guessed). Nintendo has already reported they like to launch the Wii at "not greater" than $250.

They are supposed to be announcing the launch date sometime in September. The rumored release dates range anytime from early October to American Thanksgiving. It will most likely be sometime mid-November.
