Um - YEAH! The tempo depends on the time signature! You mean like 4/4, 2/4, 9/4 time, right? Yeah! You have taken at least one music class, right? For example...if it is 4/4 time sig., then there are 4 notes in a measure and the quarter note note gets one beat.

kind of because 2/4 or 2/2 or 6/8 time is usually really fast like marches. 3/4 time is usually waltzes and slow-tempo songs. 4/4 time is really versatile but is usually moderately fast.
