6 + 2(9.4 - 1)

= 6 + 2(8.4)

= 6 + 16.8

= 22.8

6+2(8.4)
6+16.8

then you add to get the answer .... so

9.4 - 1 = 8.4

then multiplication and division go first the addition and subtraction so:

2 * 8.4 = 16.8

=> 6 +2(8.4)
