zidane. throughout the whole world cup, i was thinking of what such a great player he was and how he was such a good leader for the french team. and i know a lot of ppl probably thought that too...and then he goes and does that to matterazzi...we're just like, "what the heck?" so, i think he went out on a bad and dissappointing note...

I'll say Maradona cuz he tested positive for cocaine (a steroid) and gained an unfair advantage over his co-players b/c he had more endurance.
Zidane's was not any better but its still fresh in our memory that why we tend to think its worse. Moreover, Zidane showed his human afterall (though I was absolutely disgusted to see what he did). Also, I'm not supporting ZIdane in his actions but if Materati admitted he insulted him (considering what was orinted in the news about calling him a terrorist or insulting his family), anyone be it Henry, Sheva of Ballack could have reacted that way.
The most important thing though is that both men are still highly regarded as some of the greatest players of the game and they have huge fans still.

its definitelty not zidane. Maradona maybe. There are also others who retired this year with a bad WC. think about Claudio Reyna, captain of the USA team. His team sucked this year and he had to retired on it but its definitly not the best. Definitly Maradona. He took crack, Zidane stood up for himself, his country, his religion, and his mom. Maradona left in dishonisty, unloyalment and a great amount of shame on Argentina. Zidane showed he was human and reacted to an insult that absolutely hurt him....I back Zidane up 100% to Materazzi 0%. VIVA LA HOT HOT HOT

A genuine question that I need to answer with clarity and without bias.
Each time I see Maradona in the stands, it looks like he always has the sniffles, it takes me back to when he was declared dirty. Here's a poser: "Would you rather feel like Zidane or Floyd Landis"? Landis is finished, no sponsor and the team Phonak is up for sale.
So give me Zidane's place anytime.
Drugs or honor?

I think Maradona's was more disgraceful. I can understand Zizou because sometimes you just have enough of what's going on. I wish it wasn't in his last game at such an important moment.
