when i try to send an email on yahoo it says that norton anti virus is scanning files. how do i get rid of that so that i can just send messages without it scannning anything?

in your security settings of the norton you can stop this option

If you mean the norton scanner on yahoo's browser mail (mail.yahoo.com), you can't. Yahoo (as far as i know) won't allow the user to disable it for outgoing (or incoming) mail.
