From personal experience, the birth of our 2nd child was hit and miss. 7 months into the pregnancy I had heavy bleeding and was rushed to the emergency room. The doctor said that the placenta had torn away from the uterus and that's what caused the bleeding. The tearing was possibly due to my smoking of cigarettes the doctor stated. I was in and out of the hospital for a month before tests were done to determine that the baby's lungs were well enough developed. She was born a month early and weighed just over 5 lbs. Today she is 20 years old.
I was 30 at the time. But at any age, the emotional roller coaster for our families and ourselves, the unknown of the baby's or my future (the doctor said that there was a chance that we both could have died) and the expense scared me into a non-smoking period. Apparently this can happen to any mom-to-be.

I did a report on that last year. It was soo hard because the report could be no longer than 1 page and it was hard to cut out so many facts. Ill give you some of the sites I used.
http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/teen_stats.html
http://www.teenpregnancy.org/resources/teens/facts/default.asp
http://www.familyfirstaid.org/teen-pregnancy.html
those were the 3 best sites. good luck!

well from the part of world i come from, it is a disgrace for a teen to get pregnant and u will be humiliated for that, i even hear some religions abhor it, anyway, emotionally, socially, physically u will not feel fine and why would u put a child in trouble for the rest of his or her life if you are not ready for parenting, teenage pregnancy, there are some advantages to it though

well i am 18 and pregnant. im only 5 weeks though. as of now i do regret it because i fear the pain i am going to go through. i regret the pain my parents are going to go thru when they find out and i disappoint them(once again)socially it doesn't hurt me- this is bad but half of my friends are pregnant. but if they werent i assume it would be hard for me to go hang out with them and to do simple things like leave to the store without getting a baby ready and taking care of it.emotionally i am hurt because i dont have any plans. i m scared. i have my boyfriend. but truthfully we are not financially ready for a baby. so far i have no complications with my pregnancy. i hope this has helped. good luck on your report. stay in school.

well nothing went wrong with my pregnancy but on the other hand i didn't get to go out with my friends and have fun . it was hard at times like when i had home work and taking care of a baby and get up in the middle of nite to care for a baby and then get up and go to school. other teens would say things about me but i didn't care because i was mom and my baby was my world and i wouldn't change anything in my past if i could if you would like to ask me more e-mail me

Try going to a website like scarleteen.com - they have forums and articles on sexual education. Also try Googling Planned Parenthood as well, you want facts - not opinions when you're doing a report.

My friends cousin got preganant and had to transfer to a different school because of all the humiliation. Also she could never go out with her friends or do anything fun. All she had time for was taking care of the baby. She sorta became outcast at our school and was known as "that preganat girl." I hope that helps you.

Well, I am 14 years old and I just found out that I'm pregnant. It was so hard to tell my mom. She was heartbroken and she said i broke her trust. So now I don't know what to do so yeah.
