You say you changed the relay.
Try removing the relay and see if the fuel pump is running with the relay out. If it is you have a problem in the wiring or other part of the fuel pump circuit. The computer picks up this circuit. As well as an oil pressure sensor.
Get a wiring diagram for your truck from this site.

enter your truck and print the wiring diagram.

One thing to try, is , remove the negative battery cable for a few minutes and see if the circuit will reset. It costs nothing to try it.

Check for the fuel pump relay first. Find it and check it. There is also a fuel pressure regulator but I think that's mechanical. Maybe not, it will be close to the intake manifold. Good luck.

no, cause you could have pre-ignition as a result of carbon build up in the head.
clean the head first
if you worried about the battery going flat put in a kill switch to cut the power
you can also stop the engine running by blocking off the air flow intake
these are the things i have donne oin the past and they worked for me

Call your local Chevy dealer and ask if there is a bulletin on your problem.I remember a truck in our shop doing that, but I didn't work on it and can't remember what was the cause. I will ask the tech who did work on it and let you know .
