People cut to mask emotional pain that they are feeling. The physical pain is easier to deal with and somehow numbs the emotional. My sister cut off and on for years. She still has a thing about pain, she enjoys it. She is on antidepressants and anti anxiety medication. Not to say you need meds, but sweetie, you do need someone you can trust with your problems. Don't think about family who will laugh at you, if they do they are more messed up than you could ever be. Don't be afraid your Mom will jump to an extreme- she will just want to help you. You could try to find a support group by doing a little internet research, and then through that find a way to tell her- but you really need to. It is not healthy and can turn into a lot worse things. Just remember that this is not your fault, you are doing this as an emotional escape, and until you learn how to deal with your emotions you will continue to be unhappy and hurt yourself. Get help, you have done an awesome and brave thing today- reaching out and realizing you can't live like that. Now trust your Mom, she loves you more than you could possibly know. Hugs to you.

You need to go to whichever parent you are most comfortable with (I'm assuming your mom, but don't rule out dad-he might be the one to go to, dad's are usually more rational, he might be able to help you tell mom). Tell mom/dad that you want to talk to them about something serious and you don't want them to judge you. After you have moms/dads attention be honest with them, tell them exactly what's been going on and how long and ask for help, just that simply, "mom/dad, can you please help me?" It's not going to be easy to ask your parents for help, it never is no matter how old you are or how badly you need the help, but in this situation it's something you have to do immediately. You obviously have a good head on your shoulders since you're already asking for help, you're just asking the wrong people. Mom and dad will know what to do or who to call to get you the help you need. Good luck, be strong.

you don't! Ask yourself why you do it? I'm 20 now and i used to do it when i was 15, mostly because everyone else did! My friend put it into my head that it made me feel better! Is every thing in your life that bad? I just look at the people who have nothing, people with incurable disease and the ones who have to have someone wipe there bum for them!

cutting is serious.... i wouldn't be worried about what other people will say... you should tell your parents only in you want help because as a parent that's what they will try and do is help you get through whatever is making you cut in the first place.

Tell your mom you want to talk.

Go get help. Talk to a doctor that can help you to figure out how to talk to your mom.
