It was poets and writers who did that and the world who accepted it. As such, in their writings there is a place call horizon where earth & sky meet .
Its not about logic but about associating something with the other . Its all in the mind but the effect is felt on the heart . Raised heart beats or worse - a heart stroke . I guess mind downloads it to heart so eventually its the heart which enjoys or suffers the emotions . And so heart takes the pride & blame too .

Human understanding of thoughts and emotions is still not complete. At the time when humanity was first becoming aware that thoughts and emotions were linked, it was believed that the location of the "Mind" was in the organ called the heart.
At times of great stress and emotional overload, it was the increase in cardiac activity that could be physically felt.
The brain was thought to be an organ to "cool the blood" because the folds with their greater surface area seemed to resemble a radiator.
Only later did humans realize that thinking in the mind was associated with the brain. Emotions were left "in the heart."

I think it's because sometimes when you are in love or infatuated with someone, your heart will often race at the sight of them. It excites you causing your heart to beat faster. Or have you ever felt your chest kind of 'swell'? Most likely the same sort of thing.
Which is also why when my neighbor found out he needed heart surgery they told him he couldn't do anything that would cause his heart to race. No movies, video games, anything that would excite him in anyway. Therefore the heart is effected by your emotions/feelings, love can be a very exhilarating thing. :D

love comes the heart is an expression. People always say if you have a big heart, you are kind and loving. But emotions do come from the mind.

Because in ancient time humans believed that the heart was responsible for emotions, not the brain. It's just a leftover!

all emotions come from the heart.
if you have ever been truly in love or hate you will realize this.
concience is what comes from the mind.
it is what allows you to be the jockey of the horses we call our emotions
without concience our emotions run free
sometimes that is not a bad thing

Symptoms of love include elevated pulse. Have you ever felt your heart beat fast at the sight or thought of someone you love? It's no wonder that we associate the heart with love.

Because in olden days (somewhere around Shakespeare I think) they used to think that's where the emotions originated.
