I'm not a plant person so i'll try and describe this as best as possible. the leaves look like lily pads - they're green on top and have a reddish color on the bottom. each stem has only one leaf. I have seen small white flowers on this plant, but the flowers are sooooo delicate, the pedals fall off with the slightest touch. I hope this helps... can anyone tell me what this is and is it poisonious?

I don't have enough info to make an educated guess. (For instance, how tall, how wide, where it grows, partial or full sun, etc.) However, if I were you, I would take a photograph of it, or wearing a pair of gloves, dig it up and take it to a local plant nursery. If it is a native plant to your area, they should be able to tell you. Not quite sure if it is poisionous or now. However, you should always wear gloves when handling plants incase you have an allergic reaction to them.

Good luck! Once you find out, tell us what it is. It sounds nice!
