Maybe you can explain your situation a bit better... Do you mean play on a community sport team as opposed to playing on your high school team? I don't think a college would see playing on a community sport team as shady, but playing on a high school team would show a college your school loyalty and spirit. You can also join a club or two while in high school and do volunteer work - that always counts for a few points on college applications. Think about the colleges you want to attend and go to to their internet site and pretend your applying to college there now... see what kind of things they're looking for (just don't submit your pretend application, ha!). Sorry this is so long...

Depends...are you on an athletic scholarship or does your school have any restrictions pertaining to that? If you're on an "A" scholarship, you probably won't be able to play your "sport" anywhere else except for the school; but, otherwise, should be OK; you MUST check and get it in writing that you're OK TO PLAY!
